Scott on July 8th

Hello..
Here's the stuff on Scott today..
He did get settled into a regular room and is out of the ICU.
They took him (by ambulance) to get an MRI this morning, but it did not work out. They are taking him to a different one this afternoon.
There is also a nerve test scheduled for today to check out the arm issues..

He is eating better and steadily improving..

I called Scott in his room (3151) yesterday. He answered the phone himself and we talked for a few mintues.

Like I got in a note from the Men's pastor..
Praise the Lord!!!

Continued baby steps, patience, and prayers.

All good stuff....

Monday 07Jul

Scott is expected to move out of ICU today (hopefully)
He was able to sit on the side of the bed, and stand briefly.
It looks like he will be going through a lot of physical therapy. He is extremely weak.
He did eat a little this morning.

His speech and thinking seems to be labored and very deliberate, as if he is having to concentrate quite a bit to talk.

He still has lots of tubes attached to him.

The staff and people of Dalton are still caring and taking care of all of the needs of Scott and others who are there to check on him.

Since Scott is coming out of ICU, I am going to cut back on the daily emails.

I know that you have been thinking and praying for Scott and it shows in his improvement.

Thank you.

It is your thoughts and prayers that have helped tremendously.

Thank you again for all of your warm thoughts and prayers.

Hello,
Scott continues to improve. He is doing very well. His speech was clear and understandable.
It is a wonderful thing to be able to hear him talk out loud.

They are continuing to monitor his progress. He is still in the ICU, but my hunch is that his condition is finally not "critical".
It has been over 4 weeks since the accident, and he has many things to try and piece together.

The staff... whew.. it's awesome..

Patience, baby steps... prayers..
Take care,
Gene

July Fourth.. Scott's condition

Hello again,

Scott is doing very, very well today.
They have switched beds again, and this one seems to be better for him.
He is coherent occasionally and able to communicate.
He continues to improve!!!
He is still in the ICU, but again.. we are very cautiously optimistic.

The staff and people of Dalton continue to care and support Scott and everyone who has been to see him.

Baby Steps... Patience.... Prayers...

Thanks again,
Gene
